We are a family of Christians who strive to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and the example of the New Testament church. Whether you are searching for a church home, exploring your faith, or simply curious about who we are, we are thankful you are here and invite you to learn more about our congregation.
Leadership
The Merced Church of Christ is blessed with faithful leaders who are committed to serving God and caring for His church. Our preacher is dedicated to teaching and preaching God's Word, encouraging spiritual growth, and helping others come to know Christ. Our elders provide spiritual oversight for the congregation, caring for its members and leading according to the pattern found in the New Testament (Acts 20:28; 1 Peter 5:1–3). Our deacons faithfully serve in many practical areas of the congregation, using their gifts to support the work of the church and meet the needs of our church family (1 Timothy 3:8–13). Together, they strive to lead with humility, integrity, and a servant's heart, always seeking to honor God and strengthen His people.
What We Believe
We believe the Bible teaches that salvation is found through Jesus Christ and that God's plan of salvation calls each person to hear the Gospel, believe in Jesus Christ, repent of their sins, confess their faith in Him, and be baptized for the forgiveness of sins. We lovingly encourage everyone to study God's Word for themselves and would be honored to help anyone who desires to learn more about becoming a follower of Christ.
Our History
The Merced Church of Christ has been serving our community since 1937, when a small group of faithful Christians first began meeting together in Merced. Through God's blessings and the dedication of countless members, the congregation has grown from those humble beginnings into the church family that gathers today at our current location on Yosemite Parkway. Over the decades, generations of Christians have worshiped, studied God's Word, raised their families, and shared the Gospel from this congregation. While our facilities have changed and expanded through the years, our purpose has remained the same, to glorify God, faithfully follow the teachings of the New Testament, and share the love and hope of Jesus Christ with our community. We are grateful for the faithful men and women who have gone before us, and we look forward to continuing that legacy for generations to come.

Our congregation is made up of people from many different backgrounds, walks of life, and personal experiences. Each person has a unique story, but we are united by our shared faith in Jesus Christ and our desire to grow closer to Him. Whether you are visiting church for the first time, returning after many years, or searching for a church home, you will be welcomed with kindness, treated with respect, and encouraged as you seek God through His Word. We are not a perfect people, we are simply Christians striving to follow Christ together.
