What to Expect When You Visit
We want your first visit to be comfortable, encouraging, and centered on God. From the moment you arrive, you'll be welcomed by friendly faces who are genuinely glad you're here. Whether you're visiting by yourself or bringing your family, our goal is to help you feel at home as we worship God together. Below is what you can typically expect during a Sunday morning worship service at the Merced Church of Christ.
Our Sunday morning worship service begins at 10:30 AM and lasts about an hour and a half. We also invite everyone to join us for Bible classes at 9:30 AM before worship begins.

Welcome & Announcements
As you arrive, you'll be greeted by friendly members of our congregation who are genuinely happy you've chosen to worship with us. Feel free to sit wherever you're most comfortable—there are no reserved seats, and we'd be happy to help you find one if needed. Before worship begins, announcements are shared about upcoming events, opportunities to serve, and news from our church family. This time helps prepare our hearts and minds as we come together to worship God.
The Lord's Supper & Offering
Each Sunday, we gather around the Lord's Table to remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Members of the congregation who are Christians partake of the unleavened bread and fruit of the vine in remembrance of Christ's body and blood, just as He instructed His disciples. This is a quiet and meaningful time of reflection, gratitude, and worship. Following the Lord's Supper, members have the opportunity to give as an act of worship to support the work of the church. If you are visiting with us, you are our honored guest. You are never expected to contribute financially, we are simply grateful you chose to worship with us.

A Cappella Singing
One of the most distinctive aspects of our worship is our a cappella singing. Rather than using instrumental music, we worship by lifting our voices together in praise to God. We believe this follows the example of the New Testament church and allows every member of the congregation to actively participate in worship. Song lyrics are displayed on the screens or within the provided song books so everyone can follow along, and whether you choose to sing or simply listen, we hope you'll be encouraged by the beauty and simplicity of worshiping together.

Sermon & Indentation
Each worship service includes a Bible-based sermon designed to help us better understand God's Word and apply its teachings to our daily lives. Our goal is to present lessons that are practical, encouraging, and firmly rooted in Scripture. At the conclusion of the sermon, an invitation is extended for anyone who wishes to respond to the Gospel, request prayers, or seek spiritual encouragement from the congregation. There is never any pressure to respond; the invitation is simply an opportunity for those who desire to take the next step in their faith.

Scripture Reading & Prayer
Throughout our worship service, passages from God's Word are read to encourage, teach, and remind us of His promises. We also spend time together in prayer, thanking God for His many blessings, seeking His guidance, and lifting up those who are in need. These moments help center our hearts on God and prepare us to receive His Word with humility and gratitude.

Closing Prayer
Our worship service concludes with a final prayer, thanking God for our time together and asking for His guidance and blessings throughout the coming week. After the service, many members remain to visit, encourage one another, and greet visitors.
