About
the church of Christ
In essentials,
we have unity:
"There is one
Body and one Spirit...there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and
Father of us all..." (Ephesians 4:4-6)
In
non-essentials, we have liberty:
"Accept him whose faith is weak, without
passing judgment on disputable matters...stop passing judgment on one
another...each of us will give an account of himself to God... so whatever you
believe about these things [non-essentials] keep between yourself and God."
(Romans 14:1, 12, 22)
In all things, we
show love:
"...If I have faith to move mountains but have no love, I amount
to nothing at all..." (1 Corinthians 13:1)
What Will Be
Expected of You? . . . Nothing at all.
We do ask that
our guests fill out a visitors card or sign the Guest Book. This simply provides
information so the church can write to thank you for your visit . Supply the
information only if you feel comfortable doing so .
What Kind of
People Can You Expect Find?
Pretty much the
entire spectrum , as in any group . We are a diverse group , coming from a
variety of backgrounds , and at different stages of knowledge and spiritual
growth. We do not claim
to be perfect , we have many shortcomings. We have not yet
arrived-we are still on the journey. But, you see , we were not brought together
by any illusion of our perfection or righteousness . We were brought together by
our recognition that we we're sinners in need of the cleansing blood of Jesus.
(Mark 2:17 ; Romans 5:6-9 ;1st John 1:7) That is the
reason we can worship together. Stick together, and with God’s help some things
that make a difference. You won’t have to look far to find our personal failures
. But , the bottom line is , you will find people who love Jesus and love God’s
word , the Bible . We urge you to investigate for yourself .

The Church of
Christ is Non-Denominational.
Whether a member
or a visitor, we will be glad if you come to visit us. It is our prayer that
everything said and done is spiritually edifying. Our goal is to be the church
Jesus purchased with His blood, the one you can read about in the Bible. We want
to go to heaven and invite you to journey the road that leads there with us. We
will rely on the Bible, God's inspired word as our only direction, our map as it
were. If there is anything we can do to be of help to you, as we together
consider this trek, please don't hesitate to make your needs known. We live to
glorify God as we magnify Jesus and edify one another. As iron sharpens iron, so
can one person sharpen another.
The church of
Christ is non-denominational. We do not follow human creeds, councils or
doctrines. We are a Bible based church which reads, studies and lives by the
word of God. This congregation was built with the same design and plan that
God's Holy Spirit gave to the disciples on Pentecost to build the Lord's church
on earth. Come and visit us and hear God's plan. All are welcome! We try to be
the friendliest congregation there is! The Merced Church of Christ is over 70
years old and we are proud of the fact that for all that time, the same message
of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ has been preached and taught to many
people. Our demographics are diverse which is an example of the unity that God's
grace creates. A spot is open just for you. Don't worry about fitting in, YOU
WILL!
